Grant Funding

Consulting engineering firms can access up to $5,000 per employee per fiscal year to invest in employee training through the Canada-BC Job Grant. Please visit the Work BC website for details (the category to review: 'Stream 3: Workforce Training Stream').

Criteria for Participation

  • Minimum 10 years work experience in consulting preferred.
  • The participant must be sponsored by a representative from senior management at their firm. It is important that the students are supported by their firm. For companies who have their employees participate in this program, this is a way to groom your future leadership.

  • Limit of 3 registrations per firm. If there are more than 3 interested candidates, the rest of the applicants will be placed on a waitlist and will be notified if space becomes available by the end of February 2018.

Eligible Credits

  • Participants will be eligible for a total of 28 Professional Development Hours and will receive an ACEC-BC Certificate of Completion upon finishing the series.
  • Sessions also qualify as CPD activities as outlined in the ASTTBC guidelines.

Deadline for registration: April 3, 2019

Q: I am unable to make it to one of the classes. May I send a substitute or will I be able to make up the class?

A: Substitutes are not accepted, but you may make up the session during the following year's class calendar. Please note that the sessions will be delivered in-person only. Webinars or video components are not available.

Q: I would like to attend a couple of the sessions, but I'm unable to commit to the entire program - can I do this?

A: Yes, there will be limited spots open to the public for each seminar. The fee per course for ACEC-BC members is $245 + GST, and $295 + GST for non-members.

Q: I would like to attend the Networking Happy Hour Meet Ups, but I did not sign up for the program, am I allowed to?

A: Unfortunately, the Networking Happy Hour Meet Ups are only open to students registered for the series.

Q: I've signed up in the past for several courses that are listed in the Leadership Program. If I sign up for the program, do I need to attend the session again? Do I qualify for a discount?

A: If you attended one of the courses listed in the Leadership Program within the past 2 years, then we will acknowledge that you have completed that specific course. We would continue to encourage you to attend the session within the program again, however, in the event you are unable to attend, instead of a discount on the overall program, we will credit you 2 mixer registrations per previous course completed that can be redeemed during the year of your program. Mixer registrations can be assigned to other employees from your firm.

Further questions on the program can be directed to Ben Abbasipour, Marketing and Communications Leader, ACEC-BC.
