Update from ACEC-BC regarding COVID-19

Friday, March 13, 2020

In the wake of recent global events surrounding COVID-19, we would like to provide you with an update on the actions ACEC-BC is taking in response to the direction set out by BC Health Officials and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

ACEC-BC takes the safety and well-being of all members, volunteers, staff, and event guests very seriously, which is why we have made the decision to postpone all scheduled in person events and programs through to the end of May 2020.

Events currently scheduled to take place on or before May 30, 2020 (which includes the Awards Gala), will be rescheduled to a future date. Tickets purchased for events will be honoured for the rescheduled dates. If you would prefer, you can request a full refund by contacting Alla Samusevich, Finance and Procurement Leader.

We are currently working closely with venues, speakers, and organizing committees while paying close attention to directions from BC Health Officials and the Public Health Agency of Canada. As the situation evolves and more information is available regarding new event dates we will be communicating with you via email and posting updates to acec-bc.ca.

We understand that the uncertainty in a situation like this may be having an impact on your current or upcoming projects, which is whey we’re working closely with the government, industry clients, and senior leaders from member companies to develop an advisory committee tasked with providing guidance to ensure the safety and interests of all parties. More information on the advisory task force will follow in the coming days.

We are also making every effort to ensure our staff and committee members are safe and taking precautionary measures such as hosting online meetings and working from home.

As of March 18, 2020, the ACEC-BC office will be temporary closed, but our staff will be working remotely to support our operations.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Ben Abbasipour, Marketing and Communications Leader.
