Breakfast Seminar with Trankslink

Details: On December 10th, the YPG group had the honor of hosting a breakfast seminar with Translink’s William Hui. During the event, William systematically identified the principles and strategies he utilized to rapidly advance his career and make him a person of influence within his industry. Attendees of this event left this event with distinct-ready to implement strategies for their own careers, new industry network connections, and (thanks to the Metropolitan Hotel Catering staff) a full belly.

Prince George

ACEC-BC group in Prince George hosted an informative lunch and learn on Successful Project Delivery Methods. Guest speaker Tino Mbara from Colliers International joined the group and discussed the methodology of Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build, Risk Assessment, Integrated Project Delivery, and more!”

Vancouver Island

In late November, the Vancouver Island ACEC Young Professional Group co-hosted a networking event with the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) U-40 group, the EGBC Young Professionals group and the ASHRAE Young Engineers group. The event was at Swans Brew Pub and was very well attending, with 96 participants from all groups, from which ACEC appeared to be well represented. This was the second annual joint mixer between the groups, and the successful turnout should ensure it remains an annual event into the future.

The group also held a casual social event on February 12th a the Phillips Tasting Room with some familiar and some new faces!

Unfortunately, the April breakfast seminar with Caroline Andrews has been postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19. Details about upcoming/postponed events will be provided in a future update. Stay tuned!
